The focus of each SpinChat presentation is to educate students on risk minimisation and the consequences of careless or high-risk activities, such as dangerous driving.

Each speaker begins by sharing their personal story, what life looked like before their injury and how their accident occurred. From there, the presentation explores the reality of life after injury, offering insight into living with a disability and the challenges and adjustments that come with it.

In addition, presentations highlight the importance of access and inclusion. Speakers discuss the environmental and attitudinal barriers that people with disabilities often face, encouraging students to reflect on how these barriers can impact a person’s ability to fully participate in everyday life. This helps build awareness, empathy, and a deeper understanding of how to create more inclusive communities.

Presentations are aligned to the school’s curriculum and can be tailored to suit the student audience at your school, including addressing any specific areas of concern your faculty may have.
